Germany grills the Henssler 2024: broadcast dates, consequences

“Grill den Henssler” is a popular format on the German television landscape – and has been since 2013. Apart from a break that lasted from 2017 to 2019 during which the show was not shown, star chef Steffen Henssler has been competing against various celebrities ever since flock on. The goal is to achieve the highest possible number of points for the dishes prepared, which are awarded by a jury.

In 2024, fans of the cooking show already got their money’s worth: In addition to the 20th season of “Grill den Henssler”, which was shown from April to June and in which, for example, Jan Hofer and Guido Maria Kretschmer appeared, there was also in September and October 2024 a “summer special” – with, among others, Sally Özcan and Johann Lafer. But Steffen Henssler still hasn’t had enough for this year and can be seen a third time with the format “Germany grills the Henssler”.

Here the television chef competes against 16 cooking artists from all over Germany – each one comes from one of the 16 federal states. The traditional chefs start with a prominent godmother or sponsor from the same federal state. Together they compete as Team Germany against Steffen Henssler. As usual, the points will be awarded by a jury, and the new format will be moderated, as always, by Laura Wontorra.

“Germany grills the Henssler” 2024: broadcast dates for the new show

The new show “Germany grills the Henssler” started on Sunday, November 10th, 2024. In the first episode there was a competition between Steffen and Stefan. Henssler competed against traditional chef Stefan Schröder and his celebrity sponsor, ex-footballer Ailton. They both represented the state of Bremen. Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania also started with a footballer as a sponsor: Felix Kroos from Greifswald and chef André Domke wanted to stand up to Steffen Henssler.

Another city-state, Hamburg, will also appear in the first episode: traditional chef Klaus Moritz and rapper “Das Bo” cooking for Germany’s second-smallest federal state. With Saarland as the fourth and final federal state for the premiere episode, there is a duel that many fans have probably been looking forward to for a long time: Christian Rach, who normally evaluates the dishes of Henssler and his challengers as the “chief judge”, is now taking part For the first time against the show’s namesake.
