This is an important step in realizing the full operational capability of the European Union’s EU-RDC (Rapid Deployment Capacity), one of the key outcomes of the EU’s Strategic Compass. The aim of the EU RDC is to enable the deployment of modular forces of up to 5,000 soldiers to respond to a crisis outside EU borders.
