The Kaulitz twins, Bill and Tom (both 35), have been at home in the USA for 14 years. In 2010, the Tokio Hotel stars moved to Los Angeles to escape the hustle and bustle of being a celebrity in Germany. In a recent RTL interview, Bill Kaulitz was concerned about the political situation in his adopted homeland – especially with regard to the renewed presidency of Donald Trump (78).

“Waking up the next day in America and knowing: ‘This is reality now’” is “quite crazy,” is how the singer describes his reaction to Trump’s election. This development could have consequences for the brothers and Tom’s wife Heidi Klum (51), because their residence permit is based on a green card. Already during his first term in office, Trump advocated for stricter regulations in the awarding of contracts. What else should you do when this fall arrives? Bill Kaulitz hopes that something like this doesn’t happen: “Imagine, next I’ll be thrown out. It can be good. So everything is to be expected,” he explained in the RTL interview.

Bill Kaulitz: “Crazy people in power”

After temporarily withdrawing from the public eye, the Kaulitz brothers have long since returned to the limelight. With a successful podcast, their own documentary and sold-out Tokyo Hotel concerts, the twins are once again on the road to success. Bill Kaulitz recently even presented his first perfume with the symbolic name “Heaven”.

But even the professional highs cannot completely displace concerns about political uncertainty. “I think that’s really what everyone is afraid of. You just have crazy people in power. And not just in America, but it’s worrying all over the world,” said the Tokio Hotel frontman. Despite the gloomy forecasts, Kaulitz was hopeful: “I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of us that things turn out well in the end!”
