Swytch GO: 16 kilogram light e-bike for 1,199 euros

We know the British provider Swytch from conversion kits that transform bicycles into e-bikes with little effort (test report Swytch Kit 3). Now the London company is announcing two pieces of news. On the one hand, there will be a new conversion kit for “organic bikes” with the MAX+ in spring 2025.

Swytch GO e-bike in everyday life

The kit, which transforms bicycles into e-bikes, is intended to address many of the criticisms of previous generations. According to the manufacturer, the range increases from 30 to 96 kilometers. The battery also serves as a front light and can be charged via a USB-C port.

In addition to the MAX+, Swytch has presented a new rear motor with integrated pedal sensors. The entire kit consists of only two components. Pre-orderers pay 499 euros for the system; for immediate buyers, the conversion kit will cost 1,199 euros after the official release. Pre-orders will still be possible in 2024.

Swytch GO: The manufacturer’s first complete bike

Price and low weight are the two main features that the Swytch GO, the British manufacturer’s first complete, throws into the ring. The new e-bike will only cost 1,199 euros when it launches on the market in spring 2025.

With a weight of 16 kilograms, it is one of the particularly light entry-level e-bikes. The frame is not made of carbon fiber, but rather of classic aluminum.

Another special feature: Since the e-bike uses the manufacturer’s own Swytch GO system, it can be quickly converted into a bicycle by removing the battery unit. The bike has a derailleur gear with seven gears, disc brakes and relatively wide tires.
