Da Lat is one of the cheapest travel destinations in Asia

Da Lat, a city in Lam Dong province in the central highlands, is among the cheapest holiday destinations in Asia for year-end holidays, according to digital travel platform Agoda.

With an average room rate of $60.5 per night, Da Lat ranked fourth on the list of budget cities for Christmas and New Year travelers.

Every December, the Vietnamese city transforms into a festive oasis of twinkling lights and joyous celebrations, creating an enchanting backdrop for unforgettable holiday memories in the cool mountain air.

But Da Lat’s lively festivals and stunning natural landscapes also mean rooms can be scarce and tourists should plan ahead to ensure they aren’t left out in the cold.

Thailand’s Hat Yai tops Agoda’s list with accommodation costs of just $46 per night, followed by Surakarta in Indonesia at $47.5 and Varanasi in India at $49.

Vu Ngoc Lam, Agoda’s country director in Vietnam, said the holidays bring joy and precious moments with friends and family.

It’s also a time when expenses pile up quickly, making budget considerations crucial for travelers.

To create its ranking of the cheapest travel destinations, Agoda examined room prices in the ten most popular cities in each of the nine selected markets.

Because the rankings are based on averages, bargain hunters are likely to find even better prices in these and other destinations on Agoda.

In Vietnam, Mang Den in Kon Tum Province in the Central Highlands, Da Nang City in the Central Region, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi are also full of festive cheer during the holidays.

Visitors who want to visit these cities should definitely book well in advance.
