Metro Boomin reveals reason for Drake beef

Before the big diss track battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar began, star producer Metro Boomin was also in the middle of it. Young Metro together with Future and Kendrick and the track “Like That” gave something like the starting signal for the battle. As part of a new cover story for GQ Magazine, the producer now explains what his problem with Drake actually was. He rejects a rumor.

Drake “really hurt” Metro Boomin

Metro Boomins and Future’s “Like That” including Kendrick Lamar verses have unleashed a wave of diss tracks in spring 2024. This was followed by Drake’s “Push Ups” and finally a constant back and forth between Drizzle and K-point. Ultimately, the rapper from Compton dominated, celebrating his triumph again with an elaborate video for the (diss) hit “Not Like Us”.

But back to basics: Metro Boomin tells GQ’s Frazier Tharpe that he was really in trouble with Drake. The whole thing was of a personal nature. He has himself “really hurt” felt. It wasn’t about a woman – as is often claimed.
