New chief conductor: Josep Vila i Casañas

Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to conduct many large symphonic choirs, usually performing with their orchestras, and in parallel I have been able to work with chamber choirs and vocal ensembles specializing in a cappella repertoire. There are very few choirs that can do both at the highest level, and the MDR Broadcasting Choir is one of them. The choir performs excellently in both genres. In addition, the singers approach both repertoires with the same enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism as I do. From this point of view I feel at home with them.
