Actors Nayanthara and Dhanush attended producer Aakash Baskaran’s wedding on Thursday and ignored each other amid the feud over Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. The former’s security posted a video on Instagram showing them ignoring each other despite sitting in the front row with an aisle between them. The security firm released a video of Nayanthara attending the wedding in a pink saree with her hair tied up in a bun. Vignesh also accompanied her in a traditional white veshti. The actor posed for a few photos before sitting front row at the wedding and chatting with other guests. The camera soon cuts away to show Dhanush also sitting in the front row, at the other end of the aisle.

The video was soon shared on X (formerly Twitter) and people found it hilarious that the actors were sitting next to each other but ignoring each other. One even posted a picture of Sivakarthikeyan with Nayanthara and Vignesh and called them Dhanush’s ‘nightmares’.

The wedding was also attended by music composer Anirudh Ravichander and several other celebrities.

The much-discussed feud

It all started when Nayanthara posted an open letter to Dhanush on her Instagram, where she took him to task for not giving her a clearance certificate for using the footage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’ . Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was directed by Vignesh and saw Nayanthara in the lead role. There they fell in love. She also claimed he sued her ₹10 crore for a 3-second behind-the-scenes footage used in the trailer.

While Dhanush did not respond to the claim, his father Kasthuri Raja told Tamil Samayam, “Work is important to us. We’re moving forward. We don’t have time to respond to those who persecute us or talk behind our backs. Similar to me, my son only concentrates on his work.” He did not want to comment on the allegations that Nayanthara had to wait two years for the NOC.
