More curved gaming monitors with WQHD:

1000R means that the distance from the display to the center of the circle on which the curvature lies is 1000 millimeters. The smaller the R value and therefore the radius, the greater the curvature. If a slight curvature like the MSI Optix isn’t enough for you, then take a look at these monitors with 1000R:

Why WQHD of all things? Isn’t 4K much better?

The difference between the different resolutions lies in the number of individual pixels. WQHD has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels Approximately 70% more pixels than Full HD with 1920 x 1080 pixels. 4K surpasses both at 3840 x 2160, which is exactly four times the resolution of Full HD. To a certain extent, more pixels in the same area also mean a sharper end result.

Why would anyone ever want anything other than 4K? The most obvious reason is probably the price: Displays with a 4K resolution are generally more expensive than a similar panel with lower resolution. But for me there is another crucial factor.

More pixels also require significantly more performance from the graphics card and unless you have the strongest hardware on the market, your refresh rate will suffer. For my personal setup with three screens, I deliberately use WQHD in order to achieve high FPS even with maximum details and the highest graphics settings.

Don’t want a curved gaming monitor?




AOC’s Q27G2E is similarly priced in Amazon’s Black Friday sale as the MSI monitor mentioned above, but has no curvature. While the Optix G27CQ4DE has a curvature radius of at least 1500R, the AOC monitor is completely flat. Such a curvature does not result in a difference in performance, This question really just comes down to your personal preference.
