Holibri in Willebadessen: flowers for the 10,000. passenger

Willbathfood. The Holibri Willebadessen has been on the road on behalf of the Paderborn/Höxter local transport association (Nph) for more than a year. Now, according to Nph, the Holibri has reached its 10,000th. Greet the passenger. This means that the now firmly established on-demand traffic in the Hochstift “continues to be successful,” as it says in a statement.

Leann Darlay from Peckelsheim is a regular user of Holibri Willebadessen. They are happy about the “needs-oriented and flexible offer” that they regularly use, for example for their purchases. Because she completed 10,000 trips, Nph managing director Marcus Klugmann presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a shopping voucher.

In July 2023, the Nph restructured the 10 egg line bundle. Since then, line 540 (Peckelsheim – Willebadessen), line 541 (Bonenburg – Willebadessen) and, on weekends, line R54 have been running in Willebadessen as demand-oriented trips that operate under the brand name Holibri Willebadessen.

The number of users in Willebadessen is increasing

Since Holibri Willebadessen went into operation, user numbers have steadily developed positively, according to Nph. The Holibri now carries out up to 500 trips per month with an average of 800 passengers. In July 2024, the Holibri reached a record with more than 1,000 passengers per month.

And there is also a positive trend in October and the current month of November with up to 280 passengers per week. “We are very satisfied with the development of the Holibri Willebadessen,” emphasizes Klugmann. The central success factors included, among other things, the reliable feeder function to the RE11 regional express at Willebadessen station and the comfort of the vehicles used, according to the Nph.

In addition to the Willebadessen train station, with 42 percent of those leaving in 2024, the popular destination stops on line 540 also include the Peckelsheim bus station with 26 percent of the bookings so far in the current year.

Which stops are often used?

The situation is similar for both stops at the start of a booked trip. On line 541 there are differences in the popular destination and start stops. 24 percent of the journeys booked start at Bonenburg train station and then end at the “Kirche Borlinghausen” stop at 29 percent or at the “Haus des Gastes” stop at 26 percent.

In July 2025, BVO (Busverkehr Ostwestfalen GmbH) will take over line bundle 10. The Holibri will remain an integral part of the transport contract and will therefore also be available to citizens afterwards, emphasize those responsible.
