The annual Christmas market will also take place at the historic estate in Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf on Sunday, December 1st, between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. The preparations are already underway and, especially this week, are in the hands of children.

Daycare children take care of the decorations

The local daycare children are helping out this week. They have made tree decorations that they will bring to the estate over the course of the week and hang on the fir trees. Some of the children even come by bike because the daycare center is at the other end of town.

And the Christmas market in Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf is not only designed with the little ones in mind, but also for them. In addition to retailers, there are numerous craft activities for children – wooden crafts, a Christmas forest with fairy-tale characters and of course one should not be missing: Santa Claus. He will be there all day at the estate and will certainly be happy to receive one or two wish lists.

Numerous traders offer handicrafts and culinary delights

A total of 35 dealers will be represented at the estate on the 1st of Advent. This Sunday there will be plenty of opportunity for visitors to purchase one or two Christmas presents. In addition to children’s things, toys and jewelry, there will also be Christmas decorations and gifts, as well as honey cosmetics and clothing made from alpaca wool.

The Fredersdorf fire department, among others, will provide the culinary delights with kale, crackers and mulled wine. There will also be a game stand. Of course, stalls with sweets such as roasted almonds or crepes are also a must. In addition, the Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf local history association will be represented with four stands and will offer coffee and cake, potato pancakes, grilled food and drinks. Students from two high schools also want to use their stands to collect items for their upcoming graduation ceremony.

Many offers at moderate prices

According to Hannelore Korth from the Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf local history association, at least the prices for food and drinks are very moderate. “We are well below the usual prices that are otherwise charged at a Christmas market.” You also don’t have to pay entry to the estate on the 1st of Advent.
