The biggest update yet for Star Wars Outlaws is here.

Since August 30th we’ve been able to scrounge our way through the galaxy with Kay and Nix in Star Wars Outlaws. From today on you can also do this on the PC via Steam. In keeping with this, the first story DLC “Wild Card” will also be released on all platforms. But that’s not enough. Ubisoft also has the biggest update to date in its luggage, which primarily addresses one major point of criticism: the stealth missions.

Star Wars Outlaws update gives us more freedom in stealth missions

  • When will the update be available? starting today, November 21, 2024 for all supported platforms
  • How big is the update?
    • PS5: 7.44GB (version 01.004.000)
    • Xbox Series X/S: 10.18GB (version 1.0.4.0)
    • PC: 8.83GB (version 1.0.4.0)

The fourth title update focuses on two things: On the one hand, it brings new orders into the game, and on the other hand, it adapts combat and stealth content.

So we now have the ability to pick up more weapons and use them for longer. These and other adjustments are intended to offer us more freedom. More than ever, we can decide for ourselves whether we want to proceed more secretly or offensively, which should also prevent frustration in stealth missions.

In the new Dev Update #3, the development team went into more detail about this. The “Do not trigger an alarm” or “Don’t get caught” missions have not only been slightly adjusted as in Update 1.1.2, but have now been completely defused:

Our first step in expanding player choice is to remove forced stealth from almost all mission objectives. This doesn’t mean that sneaking is no longer a viable or, in some cases, even preferable option. If you are caught sneaking, the objective will fail and you will be reset to the last checkpoint. Instead, transition seamlessly into combat. We know many of you like the stealth approach, so it was important to us to maintain that style of play while giving you the freedom to decide how you approach each mission.

Not only was the gameplay improved, but also the image sharpness, for example.
