Christmas market Frankfurt (Oder) 2024: Christmas in the Südring Center – that’s planned

During Advent, the social Christmas market will take place again in the Südring Center Frankfurt (Oder). Who is behind the initiative and what is planned.

In December, the South District Conference invites you to the social Christmas market in the Südring Center in Frankfurt (Oder) in 2024.

The social Christmas market in the Südring Center is one of two highlights of the year organized by the Süd district conference. On both levels of the Südringcenter there will be a comprehensive creative and exercise program aimed primarily at children on the afternoon of December 4th from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can make Christmas decorations such as Christmas tree baubles, create gingerbread hearts or work out with the city sports association’s program. “There may also be a boxing machine and a Hau-den-Lukas,” says Jens Lehmann, who is part of the organizational team and is involved in the planning and preparation. “There will be a continuous stage program downstairs,” adds Lehmann.

The fact that the Christmas market can take place in this form is mainly due to the voluntary cooperation of various institutions such as daycare centers, primary schools, residential groups and retirement homes in the neighborhood. The municipal housing industry (Wowi) also supports the project “very selflessly,” says Lehmann, who has been involved for two years. A very special volunteer will also be on site on Wednesday afternoon: Santa Claus – and he has gifts with him that he wants to distribute to visitors. Most of these are donated by the Rewe and DM stores located in the department store.

Christmas market in the Südringcenter with free offers

According to Lehmann, there will be no catering options: “We don’t want to compete with local providers.” “We work very well with the center management,” he says. But what shouldn’t be missing: cotton candy! The fluffy sweet is available for free – “Like all of the market’s offerings,” explains Jens Lehmann. “Here and there there is a donation box, but of course the donations are voluntary.”

The donations are collected for the book phone booths “in case something breaks,” says Lehmann. The telephone booths are used as a book exchange and loan exchange and are of course also open during the Christmas market – maybe you can find one or two Christmas stories there too?
