Does WICKED have a post-credits scene? Here’s your spoiler-free answer

Around the same time, Universal Pictures decided not to market heavily Evil as a musical (which has become the norm in recent years), “Part One” was also dropped from the film’s subtitle.

There’s already been a lot of speculation online about what this means, with some even going so far as to wonder if “Part Two” could potentially reinterpret the events of “Part 2.” The Wizard of Oz. Whatever, a sequel will will follow next November and the expectation is that Evil will end with something of a cliffhanger.

Does this mean we should expect a post-credits scene that teases what’s to come?

We can now confirm that No, “Wicked” does not contain any mid- or post-credits scenes. When the credits roll, that’s it, but it’s always worth sticking around to see the names of everyone who worked hard to bring this film to the big screen.

Speaking to io9, filmmaker Jon M. Chu spoke about whether he was involved in the decision Evil a two-parter:

“Yes, of couse. (Universal) danced back and forth and I think that was part of the problem when it started. They always said, “Oh, it’s one movie, no, it’s two movies.” I had to come and say, “We have to make a decision.” You can’t make one or two movies good just by giving up now lets in two films, otherwise we will never make these two films good.


“We can change our minds at any time, but we can’t think about it now. We are committed to this. And once you commit to it, you can take this thing apart and find what we need. The plot holes we need to fill and the things we need to build to build Defying Gravity. So that was a big choice.”

Evilthe untold story of the Witches of Oz, stars Emmy, Grammy and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a young woman misunderstood for her unusual green skin who has yet to discover her true power, and Grammy winner Die Multi-platinum artist and global superstar Ariana Grande plays Glinda, a popular young woman filled with privilege and ambition who has yet to discover her true heart.

They are joined by Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s royal principal, Madame Morrible; Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, a villainous and carefree prince; Tony nominee Ethan Slater as Boq, an altruistic munchkin student; Marissa Bode in her feature film debut as Nessarose, Elphaba’s favorite sister; and pop culture icon Jeff Goldblum as the legendary Wizard of Oz.

It was directed by renowned filmmaker Jon M. Chu. Evil is the first chapter of a two-part immersive cultural celebration and hits theaters November 22nd.
