Why this could be the worst weekend of the entire NFL season

Why this could be the worst weekend of the entire NFL season

Another round of NFL games is upon us as the Browns and Steelers prepare to get started on Thursday night – but it’s not exactly looking like a week to enjoy.

In fact, Week 12 has the dismal potential to go down as the worst of the entire regular season.

Because only one of 13 games – the Los Angeles Chargers (7:3) against the Baltimore Ravens (7:4) – will teams with winning records compete against each other in the next four days.

And we’ll have to wait until Monday night to watch the game at SoFi Stadium.

Last season’s Super Bowl runners-up, the San Francisco 49ers (5-5), will also face the Green Bay Packers (7-3) in the weekend’s only other exciting matchup, but other than that there isn’t much to get excited about .

The Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) will undoubtedly bounce back from their first loss of the season against the struggling Carolina Panthers (3-7), while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) are expected to prevail against a dismal New York Giants team (2-8).

Lamar Jackson

Justin Herbert

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ clash with Justin Herbert and the Chargers is the only game of Week 12 that pits two teams with winning records against each other

Another affair that is likely to be one-sided is the Minnesota Vikings (8-2) sweep of the Chicago Bears (4-6).

Virtually every game in Week 12 pits a good team against an opponent in a tough spot, meaning we could very well see one-sided matchups.

The Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) against the Los Angeles Rams (5-5) are perhaps the only other exciting matchup, but the latter come into this matchup after a dismal home loss to the Miami Dolphins that wiped out their recent progress.

Next week’s Thanksgiving schedule offers a lot more hope for NFL fans looking for holiday football.

In Week 13, the Eagles face the Ravens, the Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals, the Arizona Cardinals face the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills host the 49ers.
