  • Uber is launching the Uber Assist and Car Seat services in several Swiss cities.

  • Uber Assist is aimed at people with limited mobility and offers drivers with appropriate training.

  • The car seat is aimed at families with small children who need a child seat in the car.

The taxi service Uber will expand its offering with two new services in the cities of Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich and Basel. As the CH Media newspapers report, the company will particularly appeal to passengers with physical limitations and families with small children.

These are the two new offers:

Uber Assist

The offer is aimed at all people who need support with transport. “All drivers from partner companies that offer Uber Assist complete special training in advance,” it says on the company website.

The offer is suitable for older people, people with visual or hearing impairments and for people with foldable wheelchairs, crutches or walkers. The same fares apply as for regular Uber rides.

The second innovation in Switzerland is intended to enable families with small children to move around stress-free. The federal government stipulates that children in this country must travel in a child seat until their twelfth birthday or until they reach the height of 150 centimeters.

The new option now offers the possibility of directly indicating in the Uber order that an additional seat is required. An additional charge of three francs is required.
