Path of Exile 2: This is how the ARPG will avoid the mistakes of Diablo 4

Developer studio GGG recently announced how much content there will be in the Early Access version of Path of Exile 2.

Path of Exile 2 is finally scheduled to start early access on December 6th. If you want to get started right away at the release, you just have to buy one of the supporter packs. Above all, PoE 2 is intended to be much more accessible than the first part, which was already deterring some newcomers due to its complexity. However, the depth that fans have come to love about the ARPG should be retained.

Since Path of Exile 2 will only be released in Early Access, the game is of course not as extensive as its predecessor. Although the developers packed some content into the EA release, they had to decide whether to focus more on the campaign or the endgame.

Path of Exile 2: How to level in Early Access?

In the case of Blizzard, the focus when releasing Diablo 4 was clearly on the campaign, which is why many players complained at the time of release that there wasn’t that much to do in the endgame. The PoE developers are taking a completely different direction here.

When Path of Exile 2 is released, there will initially only be three acts of the campaign. New players should need around 25 hours. The team has then adapted to a variety of endgame systems in order to adequately entertain their community.

But how do you reach the endgame if the campaign is still unfinished? After completing the third act, the “Cruel” difficulty level is unlocked. Here monsters are supposed to be difficult to defeat, but they drop better loot. The mode should also have a few other surprises in store. Players are allowed to play through the first three acts of the campaign again on Cruel before reaching the necessary level to properly start the endgame.

Once the remaining acts have been implemented into the game, the additional level of difficulty should disappear. From then on you only have to play through the campaign once and then you can start with the endgame activities. In addition to the missing story files, numerous other things will of course be added during Early Access, such as additional classes.
