LARGE DISTRICT TOWN

Letter to the editor on the article “First large district town in the district is celebrating” (BZ from November 20th):
The opposition leader in the Bundestag said weeks ago that he would order a hiring freeze in the public sector after taking over government. It is strange that in times when computers can do more and more, there are more and more employees in government and administrative offices, which also explains some of our shortage of skilled workers. When talking about the division in society, one should focus on the unbalanced pension provision that makes those in public service better off. If you want to reduce bureaucracy, you should merge administrative and district administration levels, even federal states. The Prime Minister did not miss a criticism, but not of the bureaucracy, in the Bad Krozinger Kurhaus: “The Maulers and Motzers are not getting us any further.” Maybe you could set up an authority on how citizens have to express themselves.

Peter Schwenkenberg, Bad Krozingen
