Charlie Sheen celebrates his greatest successes with “Two and a Half Men”. Now a new series with the US actor is coming to Germany. “Bookie” will air on RTL+ from mid-December. And fans can also see some familiar faces again.

Good news for all fans of “Two and a Half Men”: The new series written by sitcom creator Chuck Lorre will soon be starting in Germany. “Bookie” will premiere on RTL+ on December 15th, according to a statement. In addition to the “Two and a Half Men” star and Lorre’s former arch enemy Charlie Sheen, the series also stars his then series nephew Angus T. Jones.

For the eight episodes of “Bookie,” Lorre teamed up again with producer Nick Bakay, with whom he already worked successfully on “Mom” and “Young Sheldon.” The series is about bookmaker Danny, played by Sebastian Maniscalco, and his team, whose existence is threatened by the legalization of sports betting in California. Together with his best friend Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), his sister Lorraine (Vanessa Ferlito) and the former drug dealer Hector (Jorge Garcia), Danny tries to deal with customer problems and debts – mishaps and challenges are inevitable.

Charlie Sheen and Angus T. Jones, who played Jake on Two and a Half Men, appear as themselves in the series. Jones only has a brief cameo appearance, Sheen can be seen as a guest star in two episodes.

In the USA, “Bookie” was released on the streaming service Max at the end of November 2023. The series has now been extended for a second season, which started on the US streamer on December 12th. The trailer for the sequel shows that “Scrubs” star Zach Braff is also taking part this time. The industry magazine “Deadline” also reports that further appearances from Charlie Sheen can be expected.

The news that Sheen and Lorre are working on a project together again caused excitement among fans. The two had a falling out in 2011 over Sheen’s antics on the set of “Two and a Half Men,” which led to the actor being kicked out of the series. It wasn’t until a decade later that the matter was discussed. “I have always been an admirer of his work. She is impeccable. After all this time, his skills remain undiminished. “It was an extraordinary experience to leave everything behind and work together again,” Lorre explained about working on “Bookmaker,” according to Deadline.
