LG is introducing a new OLED monitor that will impress with a refresh rate of up to 480 Hertz. We show all further details about the specs, price and release of the UltraGear 27GX790A display here.

The South Korean manufacturer LG is expanding its portfolio of OLED monitors within the “UltraGear” family, which specializes in gaming. With the 27GX790A, a new, 27-inch screen is coming onto the market that has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The highlight is a particularly high refresh rate of up to 480 Hertz. The manufacturer specifies a value of 0.03 ms as the response time (GtG).

As is usual with LG, the almost frameless UltraGear 27GX790A contains the in-house WOLED panel, which uses white light sources within the usual subpixel structure to ensure high brightness and precise contrasts. When it comes to certifications, LG mentions VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 and the highest VESA ClearMR class.

With regard to the phenomenon known as screen tearing, Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync are the two usual solutions in the UltraGear 27GX790A. In addition, the monitor has AGLR (“Anti Glare Low Reflection”), which is a coating for better visibility in bright rooms.

When it comes to connections, the 27-inch monitor has HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 and is therefore prepared for the upcoming GPU generations such as the Nvidia RTX 5000 and Radeon RX 8000. A 4-pin headphone jack with support for DTS and 3D audio is also on board.

The L-shaped stand of the LG UltraGear 27GX790A can be swiveled by up to thirty percent; The base should also be suitable for placing a keyboard on it for a tidy setup. However, LG does not provide a price or release date for the OLED monitor for the European market.
