Cat unveils “Next 100 Years” at CES

Caterpillar has announced its plans for CES 2025, the technology trade show taking place January 7-10 in Las Vegas. We not only look back on the past 100 years of company history, Cat will look into the next 100 years by introducing new technologies, including alternative energy sources. The caterpillar The exhibit is located in the Center’s West Hall, Booth 6416 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The caterpillar The exhibit will spotlight a weight of 55,000 pounds. Cat Wheel loader 972 with technical demonstrator for retrofitting an electrified machine with extended range. The demonstrator maintains or exceeds the performance of a diesel engine and does not require DC charging. Retrofitting could eliminate the need for additional electrical infrastructure on construction sites.

“What makes this demonstrator different from others? Cat “Battery electric machines are an additional source of energy,” said Rob Janssen, vice president and general manager of caterpillar Electrification + Energy Solutions area. “In this case, it is a traditional diesel generator that passes alternating current to a rectifier that converts the energy from alternating current to direct current. The energy generated is used to charge the battery, power the machine, or both.”

Other key features of the demonstrator:

  • Cat Machines nearing the end of their lifespan can be rebuilt and re-powered to function as part of a low-carbon future.
  • Can run for several hours on 100% emission-free battery power. For extended operation, the machine can operate in hybrid mode using electricity generated by an on-board generator set.
  • An option for customers who want to reduce their emissions but are not ready to switch completely to battery power.
  • Charges overnight from a regular 240V power outlet.

Visitors to the caterpillar The exhibition will also experience a virtual construction site of the future and show examples of the infrastructure required to support electrified construction sites and different charging schedules.

Key technologies presented in the exhibition:

Cat Command: A remote control station on the exhibition floor allows participants to operate Cat Machines that physically work caterpillar Tinaja Hills Demonstration and Learning Center in Green Valley, Arizona, 445 miles away.

VisionLink: The cloud-based software application is designed to take the guesswork out of fleet management by providing key insights to maximize performance – regardless of fleet size or device manufacturer. Actionable device performance data is delivered to a customer’s desktop or mobile device to help customers make informed decisions focused on analyzing performance and improving productivity.

“Our customers have autonomous dump trucks around the world that operate 24/7 and have moved nearly 9 billion tons,” Hoenes added. “We also offer autonomous dozers, drills, wheel loaders and compactors. Our customers use these technologies to increase the efficiency, performance, security – and ultimately value – of their operations.”

caterpillar will open its centennial celebration during CES 2025, offering visitors the opportunity to reflect on the company’s global impact over the last century and imagine what the future holds. caterpillar The exhibition “The Next 100 Years: Experience What’s Possible” will showcase a combination of technologies and expertise designed to demonstrate some of the possibilities caterpillar is evolving with customers through the energy transition.

caterpillar was founded in 1925 with an innovative spirit, aiming to help our customers solve practical problems and challenges. Over the past 100 years, the company has built on a revolutionary legacy, creating industry-leading products, technologies, services and solutions,” said Rob Hoenes, senior vice president of caterpillar Electrification + Energy Solutions area.

Another exhibit feature, the Centennial Corridor, will allow visitors to experience this caterpillar First hand heritage. The company’s first ten decades will be represented, allowing attendees to recognize its significant role caterpillar has helped build a better, more sustainable world and contributes to society as a whole.
